South African sprinter, Tyler Day (Team Bonitas), gave notice of his promise as a future star when he finished third on the first leg of the Tour de Mumbai international road cycling race in Nashik, India on Friday.
The 21-year-old first-year professional from Klerksdorp was beaten to the line at the end of the 175km stage by Italian speedster, Elia Viviani (Liquigas-Cannondale) and Australian sprint ace and three-time Tour de France Green Jersey winner, Robbie McEwan (Radio Shack) respectively.
